MHC Mobility Netherlands helps the Institute for Radio Astronomy find more sustainable mobility solutions
The Netherlands Institute for Radio Astronomy (ASTRON) works with highly sensitive equipment, such as a network of radio telescopes, which can be easily disrupted, if vehicles come too close to it.
As a client of MHC Mobility, ASTRON would lease diesel cars to be able to drive up to the network. They wanted more sustainable solutions, but electric vehicles would disturb the telescopes too much.
MHC Mobility worked with ASTRON to find a solution and, following a number of tests on site, they found that the hybrid Ford Focus did not disturb the radio telescopes in a significant way. Thanks to MHC Mobility, ASTRON was able to find a solution that was better for the planet.
