‘Shifting political agendas threaten European EV leadership’ – MHC Mobility
Jon Lawes, Managing Director at MHC Mobility, a leading pan-European leasing business providing fleet solutions across all asset types and industry sectors, comments on the European mobility sector ahead of today's (22 May) ACEA vehicle registration data:
"A lack of subsidies, high prices, and inadequate charging infrastructure are stalling Europe's EV adoption. Overcoming these challenges demands a unified political front, but the upcoming European Parliament elections are more likely to exacerbate existing divisions.
"We’ve already seen the impact of shifting political agendas in Poland, with their legal challenge to the 2035 ICE ban. Without decisive action, Europe risks forfeiting its role in the EV transition damaging the industry, consumer confidence and ultimately the environment."
