'Three-year pause on Rules of Origin is an opportunity to accelerate investments into electrification'

“The European Commission’s plan to delay cross-channel EV tariffs is a positive step for the industry, which, if approved will avoid a cliff edge moment for EV uptake going into 2024.

“As we head towards transition deadlines, the three-year pause on Rules of Origin is an opportunity to accelerate investments into electrification infrastructure and ramp up Europe’s battery technology supply chain. Despite encouraging fleet-led  EV adoption throughout 2023, manufacturers and policy makers need to deliver a robust and coherent electric vehicle industry in order for vital net-zero targets to be met.”
